Nuts and Bolts

We’re going to get a little technical for a moment, so take a deep breath.

All cameras work the same way, but the quality of the image they capture will vary greatly depending on the quality of the individual components. What follows is an explanation of some of those components.

Remember, the tools used in filmmaking require some understanding, and the more you understand about these tools, the better you will be able to use them.

So, let’s dive in and ask some questions about the camera. Specifically, let’s look at the following concepts:

This may seem like a lot to remember, but in time, it will all become second nature. After all, you’re learning an entirely new language. It takes time to become fluent, so be patient with yourself.
