About the Speaker

Dr. David Wiley is one of the founders of the open education movement. Among his many efforts, he created the first open license for creative works like educational materials (in 1998), created the 5Rs framework [website], founded the Open Education Conference, helped create the first zero textbook cost degree program, served as the first Education Fellow at Creative Commons, and co-founded Lumen Learning.

Dr. Wiley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing, MIS, and Entrepreneurship at Marshall University, where he is also an Academic Affairs Fellow focused on AI in education.
