About the Speakers
Liza Long
Associate Professor, English (she/her), College of Western Idaho
Liza Long, Ed.D. is an associate professor of English at the College of Western Idaho. In 2023, she used generative AI to co-write Critical Worlds: A Targeted Introduction to Literary Analysis [website], a literary analysis textbook, and is currently working on Cyborgs and Centaurs: Academic Writing in the Age of Artificial Intelligence [website]. Liza shares her experiences writing and teaching with generative AI on her Substack blog, Artisanal Intelligence [website]. She hopes robots won’t replace us.
Reed Hepler
Digital Initiatives and OER Librarian, College of Southern Idaho
Reed Hepler is a digital initiatives librarian, instructional designer, artificial intelligence practitioner and consultant, and M.Ed. student at Idaho State University in the Instructional Design and Technology program. He has worked at nonprofits, corporations, and educational institutions encouraging information literacy and effective education.
