Introduction
Welcome to the Handbook for OERFSJ Faculty!
Open Voices, Just Choices: OER for Social Justice Faculty Handbook is designed for the 12 faculty teams participating in the Open Educational Resources (OER) for Social Justice (OERFSJ) grant.
OERFSJ supports 11 faculty teams at Loyola Marymount University, Saint Mary’s College of California, Santa Clara University, and the University of San Francisco to adapt, create, and publish OER that integrate diverse, equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist resources into high-enrollment courses across multiple disciplines. If you are reading this, you are one of the faculty members who agreed to this hard work. Thank you.
In our effort to support you in your work, the grant project team, will be creating this OER alongside you. The OER will contain readings and supplemental resources for practice-oriented workshops as well as additional content for topics that are important to your OER creation journey.
Open Voices is a work in progress. We will be creating it as we all move through developing your course OER. Through our transparency, we hope you will become comfortably patient with the iterative and imperfect processes of learning to create OER. We also welcome your input and may ask to include some of your stellar work to improve Open Voices.
Finally, we hope you will return to Open Voices even after the grant has concluded to continue to grow and develop your own OER. For now, we thank you for joining us on this journey.
