After attending the OER for Social Justice summer 2023 workshops, you will be able to

  • define open educational resources (OER)
  • understand the the open education community’s value of democratizing access to education
  • articulate the centrality of social justice to OER
  • be aware of the differences between copyright and open licenses
  • evaluate OER using the OER for Social Justice rubric

Welcome to the OER for Social Justice (OERFSJ)! This introductory chapter will briefly cover that content covered during the summer 2023 workshops. It includes slide decks and other learning materials.
