Taking time to get your bearings while blazing new trails and running an intensive OER program can be challenging. Building in assessment, however, can save you time and work. Knowing how confident your faculty authors are in creating an open textbook can help you design workshops. Setting standards for quality OER will help you determine if an OER measures up to your program’s standards. And valuing student feedback will iteratively redirect you to creating student-centered OER.

OER for Social Justice adapted and designed a number of evaluation tools to help leaders of OER programs and faculty authors stay on course before, during, and beyond the OER creation process. This includes a survey to gauge faculty confidence in Open Educational Practices, such as finding and evaluating OER, adapting and creating OER, and assessing the use of OER.

Additionally, we provide comprehensive support for publishing OER. Ensure the quality of your OER with our copyediting tools as well as annotated rubrics and review guidance for accessibility and instructional design, social justice-aligned content, copyright and open licensing, and peer review.
