Acknowledging Our Funder and Thanking Our Communities

Acknowledgments are a common feature of publications. As we write our acknowledgements we were so impressed by all the kind individuals, especially all our OERFSJ faculty and supporting staff,  for the supportive direction, inspiration, and learning they provided us through the development of this handbook. Aside from these sentiments, we want to provide you with some required language to acknowledge our federal funders and provide you with space to generate a list of folks you would like to thank. We hope you use this space to reflect on all that you have accomplished in connection with your greater professional and personal communities.

FIPSE Funding Statement

Below is text we must ask you to include in your OER acknowledgements. We would suggest placing it on the bottom of your acknowledgments page under a heading to distinguish it from your individual acknowledgements or you could place it on its own page.

The contents of this book were developed under a grant from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education, (FIPSE), U.S. Department of Education. However, those contents do not necessarily represent the policy of the Department of Education, and you should not assume endorsement by the Federal Government. Reflecting on Your Support

There are probably numerous friends, family members, students, faculty, and staff you would like to thank. Below, consider drafting your acknowledgments, perhaps making a list of those you want to remember.

Thank you for including our funder statement in your OER and for reflecting on and thanking your supportive communities!
